By the time you add the slip of the prop and the drag of the airframe my guess is my plane is near 100mph but we could do a couple timed runs to figure it out.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

AUW of the Naked Nooner is 517g. But I could put a 1300mah battery in it to reduce it quite a bit (but I'd have to find one and buy one). Using a 2100 20C right now.

Thanks Ben ... my weights are:
With 1300mah TP 45/90C packs: 16.25ozs
With 1800 Zippy 20c packs: 16.90ozs

The plan is to use the TP packs for my "racing" packs and the Zippys for my "sport" packs.   Pcalc
Numbers with my Mega 16/15/3 3000kv and a 4.5x4.5 prop are:
24.3A
30259rpm
128 pitch speed
36.8ozs thrust
270 watts
Might have to prop down some!  ;D   Will check "real" numbers later.
Colin

I smell ESC smoke !! :)

With 1300mah TP 45/90C packs: 24.89A for 280w with TGS Sport 4.5x4.5E Precision propeller
With 1800 Zippy 20c packs: 17.75A for 190w with TGS Sport 4.5x4.5E Precision propeller

So ... will have to prop down when racing since the TP packs are my "racing" packs. ;)

That's quite a difference in output between the two packs with the same prop.  Did you happens to note the voltage under load for each test.

Around 11.2V for both

Reading a few posts it seems I will be the only one racing this weekend. I understand obligations are in the way for Ben and Colin. I believe Andy is not completed his plane.

My son's baseball tournament is this weekend. If he is eliminated tomorrow I might be able to make it out Sunday. Is Sunday the race day? I can't remember.

I put a 1300mah battery in the Naked Nooner. It's 477g AUW now.

Great news your batteries arrived. Now we just have to pressure you into flying it lol. I think the next race is in two weeks!

I'll maiden it at Kingston. I think I read that you're not planning on going. I highly recommend it if you can get away.

I've heard good things of Kingston but I will be camping Friday till Wednesday.  Have a good time at the event.
