Papa

By now you have seen the Tickler and my questions.
Let me know what you think?

In my opinon, I want it line of sight with the first pylon.

I would say next to the pylon, at the far edge of the field?

Then there's also a chance it might hit Ed's plane!  ;D

piker

I like the concept.  Near the first pylon works for me.

piker

Hmmm... except the flag will have to be manually reset for each race.  Maybe in that case the flag should be on the field about 30 feet in front of the racers.  We'll just have to avoid it when landing.

Is the flag too far away if its at the pylon??  Robert you need to work off that shortbread somehow.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

piker

I'm not resetting it!  That'll be someone else's job.  Maybe the President's!

Piker, you chicken sh*t! ;)

So a plane lands at FB away from the water's edge, you jump in your mini ark; sorry: car-top boat; motor out and pick the plane up, bring it back, hand it to the rightful owner with a grin on your face.  Got it.  That's not work.  Your boat is 100% scale modeling. :D

20 spectators at the field and you can't convince, connive, bribe, bully, beg, tease, command, request someone to re-set it.  I will donate a dozen donuts per race to pay the volunteer to re-set it.  Oh, yes.  Piker, you can't have one. 8)

maybe just mount the flag directly onto a high torque servo that turns 90 degrees. It would reset itself.

Papa

That's where I was going but our resident Dutch 'Rube Goldberg' took over and being a good delegater I just stepped back and let him go for it.

re: Jack's comment: Dutch 'Rube Goldberg'

Rube van Goldberg to you sir!

Frank

ps: Having a great time her at my sister's in Rotterdam.  Something I have known for years:  The Dutch only eat once a day...for 24 hours.

Whatever!

I still have plausible deniability.
