Yesterday I went to the Collings Foundation "Wings of Freedom" exhibition. We got to the Leesburg airport early and saw and heard the B-17, B24 and TP-51C landing. What a wonderful sound.

The Mustang is the only dual control flying and it's an early "C" model.

I climbed aboard the B-24. It's big on the outside but small on the inside. I tried to walk a catwalk through bomb bay to the front but could not make it. I had to bale and so did my cousin. They must have been awfully slim 20 year olds flying these. These planes were built to have a very short life span and here they are some 68 years later and they are maintained in better shape than during their service life.

Jack.
