It has been another enjoyable season being with you and maintaining our "Rogo" field.  Training days and nights are loads of fun and a great time to socialize.  Although we have been blessed by low lying crops surrounding the field for the past 6 years, the word is that we will be dealing with something a little more towering next season.

Field Maintenance and Improvements
Here's what was done this year:
•   Spring clean up
•   Grass over seeding and rolling
•   Runway markings, rolling and repairs
•   Portable toilet upkeep
•   Weekly grass cutting from May through October
•   Fall clean up

Safety & Security
As our hobby continues to evolve both in flying style and equipment, the field rules were updated to reflect those changes and the field modified with the removal of "station 6" to bring us into full MAAC field compliance.  Thank you for your understanding and doing your part to keep our flying safe!

Training
Congratulations to all of our graduates of the Mike Hazelton school of flying.  It was another fun season with good weather and spectacular stunts—who can forget the windsock landing?  As announced earlier this year, Mike would like to share the CFI role by relinquishing his position after an amazing 5 years.  So we are seeking someone interested in assuming this CFI position before the next season begins.

In addition to the evening sessions, Bruce Weaver ran weekday morning training which fit very well for some of our members' schedules.  Frank van Beurden continues to foster our mutually beneficial relationship with Ryerson University, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering students.

To Mike, Bruce, Frank and all of our instructors, thank you so much for your time and dedication!

2017 Objectives
Here are some of the things we are planning to do:
Spring clean up
Grass over seeding
Add gravel to parking lot and laneway
Runway and lawn maintenance
The "Loo" maintenance
Minor Table repairs
Fall clean up
Win lottery (still trying...)

Finally, my thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers who contribute and make our aerodrome so special.  As always, your ideas and suggestions are welcomed.

Respectfully,
Graham McNicol
