Hi Everyone,

I have some (slightly) sad news - this Wednesday, April 11th is our last Pilots' Meeting of Winter 2017/18.  So, you'd better make sure you make it out to have your potentially last "wings supper" of the winter!

Colonel Mustard's Pub, 6545 Highway 7.  Food in the bar area from around 5pm and then we head downstairs at 7:30pm.

Inspired by the fun from our last meeting and the workshop contest, with a little nod to my mother (who loves a Pub Quiz) we will be having a TEMAC Quiz night! Come and test your general, aviation and RC knowledge in our team quiz night.  I will be your host and quiz master and there will be prizes (again) for the top 2 scores plus the best quiz team name.

Also during the meeting, Bruce will give us an update on the 2018 Flight Training program, so whether you want to know how to buy earn your MAAC wings this year, or how best to help with the gound school,  or become an instructor  come along and listen to what our new CFI has to say.  You can also quiz him, just for fun!

And as always, why not bring your latest projects for "Show 'n' Tell" - its always fun and motivating to see what others have been up to.

As part of the Flight Instruction update, we've also updated the TEMAC Safety & Field Rules to ensure we stay up to date with the latest changes in the hobby.  You can see the updated rules on the TEMAC homepage (www.temac.ca) or come to the Pilots' Meeting and will go over the changes.

You may notice some other changes to the TEMAC website homepage!  Ben kindly gave me access to do some housekeeping, so I have made sure all the bylaws, flight training and safety documents are up to date.  While we were at it, to recognize the unique contribution that the "Morning Crew" make to our club, we created a dedicated section of the forum for them to tell us all when they are next going to Swiss Chalet or have a mass Warwing combat.  ;D

Finally, while most of us are still indoors waiting for Spring, Frank and his Ryerson UAV Kids have started flying again.  I'm so proud that TEMAC is able to support their projects and learning and I am hugely grateful to Frank for being such a generous mentor and coach.  Watch the forum for updates of their latest crazy projects and maybe see where RC flight is heading in the future?

Hope to see you all Wednesday.

Thanks Simon,
All sounds great.  Can't wait to get back in mid-May and enjoy some fun'n'flying.
Thanks for keeping me up to date over the winter on 'All Things TEMAC' during my exile in the sun.

Cheers everyone, Enjoy the last pilot's meeting!

And, of course, the Wednesday night Pilots Meeting is an excellent opportunity to pay your 2018 TEMAC membership fees and collect your 2018 membership card.  Why suffer RC model choice anxiety when I can take the cash off your hands and make the problem go away completely?!!

Cash, cheques, gold bullion, and daguerreotype photos of @Frank v B gratefully accepted!

See you Wednesday.  And don't forget to also renew your MAAC membership at maac.ca.

Cheers!

@Andy Hoffer it's such a great service you provide! How kind of you to stop others buying new models. Now I know why everyone's collection is just 1 plane short!  ;)

Why thank you @sihinch .  Just doing my part to promote matrimonial bliss!  The last thing you want on the flight line is a stressed pilot!! 8)

It was a great night!  We've got to get @bweaver back on a horse so he can patrol the field in style, befitting his station as CFI!

I can't wait for @Michael to build a 1/4-scale SR71 Blackbird so I can scratch build a couple of custom electric ducted fans for him!!  8)

Hey Andy,

The guys at the Metro Marine Modelers want to use your ducted fan assembly...... as an anchor for the turning buoy on their sailboat race course! :D

The meeting was a riot.  Lots of laughs.  Great trivia questions Simon.

Bruce- Did that horse ever recover from having you on its back?  Poor animal. :)
