SOGGI Open ALES Contest - Oct 5th

Hey folks,

SOGGI will be hosting an open ALES contest for electric sailplanes on September 28th. You are invited to join us.

ALES, or Altitude Limited Electric Soaring, is a contest format for electric sailplanes which uses an ESC limiter to cutoff the motor at 30s run and/or 200m altitude, after which you must complete the duration task (10 minutes total, so 9:30 after cutoff) and perform a spot landing (for additional points).

It does require getting an altitude limiter like a CAM from http://www.soaringcircuits.com/ which plugs in between the ESC and Receiver.

All electric sailplanes are welcome, provided they have been equipped with a limiter.

The contest will be held at SOGGI's field on Haldibrook rd off Hwy 6 west of Hamilton.
