Maidened my Sig Kadet LT-40 tonight
« on: June 11, 2019, 11:20:01 pm »
I successfully maidened my Sig Kadet LT-40 Trainer tonight. It’s an ARF made of balsa/ply and film covering. Wingspan is about 1.8 m. Powered with a Rimfire .32 and 4S LiPo (I have 3200 to 4200 mAH batteries). Anyway, the flights went smoothly - no wild aerobatics.

Jeff said it was boring because nothing happened except “normal flying”. He thinks I should get a more exciting plane - maybe I will.

Also, just for the fun and challenge, I set up the AR636 receiver to behave like an Apprentice with SAFE (beginner mode), Intermediate mode, and expert mode. It also has PANIC mode on the Trainer button. SAFE/PANIC seems to work OK in the air so the programming was correct.

Next step is flaperon programming....

I wish I could do some "normal" flying.

That looks very cool... excellent green.  Glad it went well.

Hey Richard,

Congrats on a good test flight.

I have a Kadet Senior almost ready to go that I built for casual flying around the patch and for smooooth float flying.  Sometimes the best flying is relaxing flying.  Who want's to be stressed out all the time while flying... well.... maybe Simon   ;D
