That looks amazing!

I agree.  Not only that, I think the plane's style would be perfect for making a similar flying EDF out of foam and other composites.

What could possibly go wrong?

Simon,

Is this footage of your new Electric Lightning project?  Wishful thinking.  Any time we start to think we may be accomplished builders we get put back in our place by a project like this.  Amazing work.... your project too. ;D

Just look at that classic shape!  What an aeroplane?  Capable of breaking the sound barrier in a vertical climb. 55,000 + ft/min.  Not bad for a 1945 design and 1960's build.

Good job Simon. Can't wait...

Covering is almost done, now (thanks a lot to Vadim and Frank!) I'm actually waiting on servos and a motor to finish the build, and then I need to add the elevons.

In the meantime here are some teasers....

Getting close Simon!  What are you going to power it with?

Roger,

Let me Simonize your question "what are you going to over-power it with?" ;D

The plans call for a 2700kV inrunner of the 28mm variety.

So I ordered a 3000kV motor!!! Planning to use 4.7x4.7 prop on 3S with 40A ESC. I estimate somewhere around 250 and 300 watts.

Still waiting on the motor and servos......

......I just had to add decals!  :D
