Re: Notice the careful placing of the photo flash reflection on the windshield.... just enough to tick off Andy Hoffer.

@Andy Hoffer -  It is like @Frank v B can do it without even trying. (Even with a fool proof camera.)  :P

Bruce,

I suspect there is a difference between a fool-proof camera and an idiot-proof one. ;D

It's called Bokeh... but it seems Frank applies it to the ENTIRE subject... so it's actually more like Brokeh  ;D

Despite the weather forecast not being ideal, I'm still optimistic we will avoid any rain.

The funfly is on as scheduled.

we had a great day.  It was fun.  We had lunch early when it started to spit.  Then we flew, even while a few drops fell.

Great to see Simon Chapman, the mad pilot (describing his flying style, not his personality) was there, Yakob, and Colin Moses.  I went over the photos and counted 27 members plus Simon H.'s Les and Shortbread.

Photos below.

Thanks to Michael for running the day's events.

Agreed.  A Spaceshuttle, Warwing battle mahem, hotdogs, excellent shortbread, a perfect score on the parachute drop and retrieval, Warwing formation flying (yes... it's a thing), so many beautiful planes.  A bit of rain couldn't spoil it.  Cheers.

Great day!  Thanks for organizing, cooking, the auction and awards presentation.

Once again the Shuttle drew the most attention, and the addition of the booster cups (rockets) really finished it off.

Hey, guess what, it rained a little and nobody melted.

Thanks...

More photos:

22- Warwings flew because they float
23- Glenn's thrust Vectoring Warwing motor
25- identical twins Colin Moses and Glenn.  Great to see Colin at the field.  Come back soon...to fly.
26- Chris and Bruce discussing the benefits of foam insulation.
27- No comment
40- Chris showing us his inverted flying skills.
43- Props lost at today's event.
47- Simon's Shuttle- this is it flying straight and level attitude.  The aerodynamics of a brick.
48- Simon after the flight.
50- Charlie the pilot bailed out of my little 1/2A Corsair at about 50' altitude.  Good thing he had a safety strap (servo wire- servo buried in his shoulders to make his head turn with the rudder).
44- Simon's Shuttle- performance enhanced by Tim Horton's ThrusterCups.
