Hi Guys. I know the field is not officially open yet, but if anyone does go flying you should know the field outside  our grassed area is treacherous. Last year I had my new Warwing go down about 100 feet outside of the grass. I put on my rubber boots and went for it. By the time I got 50 feet out I was barely able to move. The mud is like quicksand. Just to make things especially great, being stuck in the mud by the plane I lost my balance. Because I could not move my feet I fell on the damn plane. By the time I got back, which was probably about 30 minutes I was exhausted. It is really, really not nice out there, be careful.
What could possibly go wrong?

Oh no! Poor you Rob. Thanks for the warning.  :(

The field is wet, and the runway is not in great shape.

Remember, the field is not officially open for the 2020 flying season.

If anyone must go to fly, please don't go alone (keep healthy social distance). Make sure there is help available if you need.

Oh oh... more repairs?!? Hopefully not damaged too badly.

Actually Guy, it got worse. I used the warwing as a crutch to get out of the mud. By the time I got back to the runway there was not much left intact. Honestly I put it in a corner and forgot about it until I needed the motor for something else. Frank says that if you put it in the corner it will fix itself. I guess it was too badly damaged to fix itself because it was still covered in mud when I through it away.

As in several states, Illinois is under a "Stay at Home" order.

Horizon Hobby (Hangar 9, E-Flite, Spektrum, etc.) has sent out an email to their customers that they will not be flying at their clubs.

So far, such an order hasn't been issued in Ontario nor the GTA, however, if a similar situation develops here, we will have no choice but to officially close the filed temporarily.

Based on current protocols and the conditions of the field, flying at TEMAC is not recommended.
