WANTED: Spektrum trainer cable.
« on: July 29, 2020, 04:30:30 pm »
Looking to buy secondhand a trainer cable for Spektrum radios.
Spektrum uses headphone style plugs (mono).
I would like one that specifically has right angle plugs.

If anyone has one, please let me know the asking price.  I will be at the field next Wednesday, or whenever the next training session will be. I will also be near the field Saturday, and could drop by to pick it up.

Hi @Mike_Kilo,

If you can accept straight plugs instead of right angle I would suggest

Sayal Electronics
7701 Woodbine Ave.,Unit 1-3
Markham, Ontario, Canada
L3R 2R4

Phone: (905) 513-7292
Email:  markham@sayal.com

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

https://secure.sayal.com/STORE2/View_SHOP.php?SKU=67015

I'm not sure what the difference is between the $2.50 vs $3.99 versions, but you could inquire with Sayal directly.  It's a great store for electronics parts, wire, cables, adapters, shrink tubing, meters, tools, etc.  Allow 2 hours for browsing through stuff you don't need!!  :D

Enjoy!

Hi @Mike_Kilo ,

I thought you'd like it.  Sure beats $18.99 at some hobby stores.  I like to patronize our hobby shops, but 5 to 8 times the price is over the top for me.

If you really want the 90-degree bend you could just tie a loop at the connector and tape it in place.

If you really want to go all out, talk to "Five-minute @Frank v B"  for epoxy solutions!  And, if the truth be known, Frank has encyclopedic knowledge of nautical knots. (Not to put too fine a point on it.)  I'm sure he could trick out your trainer cord with just the right knot to give you a perfect 90-degree bend at the plugs.  8)
