Title: E F 1 at the US Nats
Post by: Polecat on July 08, 2018, 08:51:49 AM
Today is the E F 1 pylon racing at the US Nats, Cory, Rick Paine and Dave Ford are competing, will update how they finished. Just checked the racing matrix and there is 66 rounds of racing, with 44 guys entered. There is two classes, standard and expert, so the guys will be in the standard class but racing with the experts.

Cory finished 8th in the E F 1 pylon racing, had bad luck in the last round with a cut or a double cut. Dave Ford and Rick Paine finished away down. The racing was really fast and very tite racing. The fast time was Mike Helsel with a 1:05, Cory's time was a 1:09.

Dave, Cory and Rick are so scared of the TEMAC guys that they wanted the extra practice by racing at the US Nats. ;) ;)
Nice going.  Must be great to just be there with the guys you always read about.

Safe home.

hey thanks guys! ya the competition is pretty fierce down there, almost every race is a dog fight.
My dad had some tough luck and crashed, Dave just couldn't get the finishes he needed. out of the 41 pilots they had a break out time of  1:20 or something like that. so once you posted a time below 1:20, you are considered expert. which gives the 2 classes of standard and expert. Dave had a fly off for a standard class 2nd but cut out in his heat.
I was tied for 5th in expert going into the last round of the day and dbl cut... there was an argument of what happened, and i lost the argument! ( i know i didnt dbl cut!! to many points to be lost) oh well  lol
8th overall out of 41... not to shabby. next year!
