Title: Ryerson for 2018
Post by: Frank v B on December 19, 2017, 04:51:10 PM
Heard today from Peter Bradley, our contact at Ryerson's "Flying Things" faculty.  They are starting to build models over Christmas.  The projects include:

- a cardboard trainer.  They are calling it "Element 113" which was discovered by Japanese scientists.  The element only lasted 600 milliseconds.  Out of optimism, they did not call it element 115 which only lasted 300 milliseconds.
- a PVC pipe carrying project.  The pipe becomes the fuselage.
- Starting a Club: a possible indoor electric flying club.

TEMAC has offered to help.

Hey @Frank v B,

Hmm... 600 milliseconds.... that would be on par with the life of your EF-1 at Orangeville!   8)

Andy,  not quite.

I crashed after about half a lap.
To do a half a lap in 600 milliseconds places my plane's speed near the speed of sound.  I am neither that fast nor that good.  Thanks for the compliment though. :D
