Title: FMS YAK 130 - landing gear upgrade
Post by: Oscar on July 06, 2018, 08:58:39 PM
For those who own FMS Yak-130 70mm, FMS will soon be releasing a set of suspension equipped landing gear as an upgrade.  It will look even more scale.

FMS will release the YAK 130 v2 by end of this month.  The new YAK will come with HobbyWing 80A ESC (current version is 70A) plus the new landing gear.  The Grey paint scheme will be discontinue.

No price release yet.  But I will think it will cost more than v1.

That's a good upgrade.

Considering EDF jets have higher wing loadings land faster than most prop-aircraft, this type of landing gear should be standard on models like this.

Most problems I have had with EDF jets have been with landing gear on not-so-smooth landings.

From now on, I would prefer to buy jets with this landing gear.

To save on the landing gear wear and tear, do what @Canuke of the morning crew does, by only using it to take off and land with it retracted.  He claims it lasts twice as long.

Actually Bruce, the landing gear lasts longer than the plane (I put duct tape or laminate on the lower fuse where the plane skids on landing). The plane never gets damaged. Craig from our morning group started seeing the light this morning as well and began doing this on his Mustang. He and I did our formation flying this morning and we got roars of approval from the audience (maybe not roars, but some actually noticed.)
