Title: New Year's Day Funfly Jan 1 2019 10 am
Post by: Frank v B on December 05, 2018, 10:48:26 PM
Get ready for the New Year's Day Meeting of the Foolish Flyers of TEMAC.

Meet at Tim's at 9:30 am for coffee.
Meet at the field at 10 am for flying.
Meet back at Tim's at 10:15 if it is a really awful day. ;D

I am sure Andy will be sporting his latest beachwear.

This appointment happens no matter what the weather.  No waffling allowed.

Frank

REMINDER

Please remember to renew your MAAC insurance/membership (https://secure.maac.ca/members/en/join.php) before the New Year's funfly.....otherwise TEMAC's Mr. Precise* will hound you and make you wear beach wear for the funfly. You would not want to look like him.  Ultimate suffering !! ;D

Did someone say"Ultimate suffering?"  (from the movie The Princess Bride)

UPDATE:

It is looking like the landing gear of choice will be the round spinning type instead of the AndySkis.  Greg H. will drive by the field in the next day or so to give us a last minute report.  I have visions of Andy doing the SnowDance.

Andy,

re: "I have visions of Andy doing the SnowDance."

You're good.  Wow.  All this white stuff on the ground this morning.

Now can you make this weather event happen? ;D ;D  I'm not too fussy about USD versus CAD. ;)

morning all... there is some snow on the field but I'm guessing after tonight rain it will be gone. So water skis might be the what is needed :)

oh and the 30k/h wind should be fun too

For this and one more reason, that is why I am bringing a Warwing or two, including streamers.

The second reason is to bug snooty.

Bruce,

So I looked up "Snooty" via Wikipedia to see if my picture came up:

Snooty was one of the first recorded captive manatee births, and at age 70, he was the oldest manatee in captivity,[1] and was likely the oldest manatee in the world. Due to his hand rearing from birth, Snooty was never released to the wild and was the only manatee at the museum's aquarium that had regular human interaction. [2]

Close. ;)

Frank

Greg,  thanks for the post.  Regardless of the conditions, we will be hydroplaning (H2Oplaning?). ;D

It's pouring buckets here in mid-town Toronto.  Preferred dress option in the photo below.  Bring floatplanes!

Hope to see you 9:30 am at Tim's Woodbine.

Happy New Year to all members who cannot make the event tomorrow.  You geniuses!*

Frank

* Andy, is the plural of genius "genii"??

Skates were the best choice!

photos of the Tim Horton pre-field coffee.  Thirteen people showed up at Tim's.  At least 16 people showed up at the field.  Michael has the final count.

Oscars wife follows the Forum too you know.

I hope I won't get him in trouble, but the real reason for his get up was to avoid him being caught by his wife being out flying on New Years Day.  He told his wife he was just going out for milk. I hope he remembered to bring some home.   ::)

Carlos, the cows would not be producing milk today.  More like ice cream. :D

It was windy and chilly.
