Title: The Incredible life and Times of Eric Winkle Brown.
Post by: RogMason on October 07, 2018, 11:41:37 PM

Very interesting video. The Incredible life and Times of Eric Winkle Brown.

We've all heard of his first carrier deck landing of a Mosquito (at 40mph less than the stall speed) and later the first carrier landing of a jet (Vampire) but he also holds the world record of test flying more different types of aircraft than any other pilot, and evaluating many captured Luftwaffe aircraft in order to advise RAF pilots of their weaknesses. He has great respect for German technology and aviation.

The last part of the film is difficult to understand at times. The author of his biography, holds a slide show with some interesting details but it is not immediately apparent which photo he is discussing, so look for the little red dot of the laser pointer.
