Folks, I realized I have a few planes (yeah, Beaver included) that don't have a BEC, I wonder what's preferrable (and why)...  ESC + BEC in one piece or separate? Please vote

Be careful... it's always too close, no matter how far...

Hi Andre:

I use both configurations, depending on the power demands of my servos.  If in doubt, I add a separate BEC.  Some ESC manufacturers tend to be a little "optimistic" in their appraisals (claims) as to how much current (how many servos) their built-in BECs can handle.

I use combined on my smaller planes and a separate BEC on my larger planes... usually determined by whether the ESC has a built in BE or not.  Most of the larger ESC's don't... or at least they didn't.

Good inputs, my question is, how do I know if a BEC is suitable for my planes? For example, the beaver
