Title: Flying Sunday Sept 3- calling all EF-1 nuts
Post by: Frank v B on August 31, 2017, 10:20:12 PM
Hope we can have some EF1 sparring as a practice for the EF-1 races in Orangeville one week later (Sept 10).  Anyone able to join in this Sunday Sept 3?  I can be at the field from 9 am -1pm.

Frank (still aiming for second last ;D)

What an awful morning.  For those of you who elected to stay home.....brilliant.  The gustiest, wind sheariest day I have ever experienced at TEMAC.  Wind doesn't bother me at all but today before noon was impossible.  Wind pretending to be from the north at ground level, then switching to the west at altitudes higher than 20', then a downdraft in the southeast end of the cut field.  Both my planes got sucked in from 20' AGL and pancaked on top of the corn.  Not a scratch on either plane (E-Flite Beaver, Siren Hotliner).

Not a single person showed up to fly in the morning (smart) and only two showed up just after 12 probably just to make me feel better. :D

Morning crew members would have called that a successful flying day.   :P
