Title: Close call- aileron servo loose on the Denight Special
Post by: Frank v B on September 04, 2023, 10:05:56 AM
Aileron servo came unglued.

Noticed the aileron moved when removing the wing from my car.  It was glued onto the servo cover but the hot glue let go.
Pulled it apart a bit and dropped some 5 minute epoxy behind it.  Clamped it until cured.

When one aileron servo is loose it does not mean the flight will end in disaster.  It makes the flying unpredictable because much of the rolling resistance is lost.
The risk is that the loose aileron is deflected and then get stuck in that position.  That would have been a quick end to my day.

Yes, checked the other servo.  It was fine.
