Flight Instruction takes place every Wednesday at about 5 pm until dusk, starting on May 10, until the first week of October.

Flight instruction is offered to TEMAC members, with the goals of obtaining 'solo-flying under supervision' privileges, and then 'Wings' which permits members to fly without supervision.

Frank van Beurden is our friendly Chief Flight Instructor, and together with his team of instructors and volunteers, has a superb record of efficiently teaching new members to fly.

All participants over 14 years old are legally required to have a basic RPAS license from Transport Canada. All models to be flown must be registered with Transport Canada, with the registration number clearly visible on the model.

Students under the age of 14 may receive flight instruction, but cannot achieve solo or wings status until they are 14 years old, which is the minimum age for acquiring a basic RPAS license.

All participants under 14 years may fly model aircraft with a gross weight of less than 250 grams, only under the direct supervision of a member who does have RPAS.
