This PT109 is ready to hit the water at Toogood Pond when the water is no longer solid.
It will require a 2-cell, perhaps 3-cell battery to replace the sealed lead acid battery previously used.
Pining for spring and warm weather.

That is a 29.5 inches long Lindberg plastic model I built over 30 years ago. It was running fine in a swimming pool.
I modified and replaced the drive train with direct drive and twin screws.
It is very, very dusty.  I have no idea how to remove that amount of dust and will probably float with it.
The other /next project is also a 36 inches Lindberg plastic kit with a similar amount of dust (cough - cough) holding the model together.
I will add 2 motors driven with a single ESC, and LiPo batteries.
The twin rudder will be operated with a micro servo.

Twin rudders made for the Destroyer - to be coated with epoxy and painted.
Small bit in red is the original rudder.

Just a bit of progress whilst waiting for springtime.

Guy,

Guess what I bought two weeks ago along with a prop shaft and prop. Toogood Pond bound.
It is 13" long.

Next after I finish the PT 19 (airplane).

Destroyer ready for sea trials.  :-X

Seems a bit top-heavy with the addition of the servo and linkages for the turret controls.
Also, I will need to add a bit of foam for flotation, just in case...

When is spring arriving?!?  Looking forward to going flying/sailing again.

Can't wait to see the PT races, including the slalom events!

Yesterday I picked up an Eindecker kit from a gentleman named Ken at his shop. He showed me around, and although I'm not really a boat guy, I was impressed by the build quality of these massive warships and just had to share a few photos. Apparently, they were built using tin. The level of detail is incredible — all the guns swivel, small doors open, and they have tons of lights.

I am impressed, this ship is FANTASTIC!!!
