A close call!!

Just took apart my Pogo stab/elevator. The right half appeared a bit chewed and half the right elevator half was missing.
Here was the real damage:
- the leading edge of the stab broke clean through at the fuselage
- 2 of the 4 stab ribs disintegrated but stayed inside the covering.
- the trailing edge was 90% cut through. 10 percent of the trailing edge fibres stopped the right stab from blowing away.
Good thing I throttled back to 3/4 throttle after Glenn ditched or this stab would have disintegrated. These planes have marginal tail surface area to begin with.
Note: I once flew my Hammer (42" span, racing 25, 4S, 8x8 APC, hand-launch) and the right elevator half snapped during a high speed pass. The stab was actually held in place by the covering and the fin/rudder (stab half was still attached but pointing up). It landed without incident and without much trouble.
