Title: 6 minute elevator repair- how to do it
Post by: Frank v B on May 22, 2023, 04:49:43 PM
Brought my E-Flite Spitfire to the field and realized the elevator balance portion at the tip had folded back.

step 1- mix 5 minute epoxy
step 2- sharpen a round (not a flat one- too weak) toothpick so it is about 3/4 the original thickness.
step 3- roll the thinned out toothpick in epoxy and pin it through the bottom of the elevator so it straddles the fold (at my left thumb) but does not exit the top surface.
step 4- when epoxy has set- cut off the toothpick flush with the elevator surface. I used a sharp knife.  I have used small sidecutters.
