Andy,

re: your comment "Admiral @GuyOReilly's gorgeous three-masted Galatea".

Please look at your photo 95 and count the number of vertical sticks on Guy's boat.
By definition a schooner has two masts.  The horizontal sticks (booms) do not count.

Frank

ps: a bit like you telling me you had twins and me asking "how are the three kids?"

Yes, I was there but at 2,000 feet trying to cheer you on.
Thank you for your hard work.

That was a great treat seeing you today Guy.  Thanks for the fly-by and the wing waggle... excellent.

The field is rolled, the runway is rolled and re-stretched.

Thank you so much Glenn and Mark, Rob, and Michael... very much appreciated.

Building / Construction / repairing freewing f16 gear
Last post by Noah - April 30, 2025, 11:38:30 AM
so since the last time i flew my f16 although both landings were fairly good i noticed some gear issues

1. part of the main gear mounting bracket broke off. this was a simple fix using some epoxy, just had to make sure it didnt block the gear from retracting.

2. after the second flight last time i noticed my nose wheel has bended quite substantially. i am going to try and save that broken strut however in the meantime i have ordered replacements which are arriving saturday. decided to take the C clips off the nosewheel already to make it easier on myself later on. therefore the nose gear is kind of just hanging right now.

will update this post once i get my parts in.

Roller and wheelbarrow should be at the field by 9am tomorrow (Wednesday).
No one has to be there for delivery.

AMPOT is coming tomorrow as well to service the portable toilet.

I'm not going to be there until about 10am.

Thanks to the Board for organizing this important work.  I sincerely wish I could be there to get in the way, but I have to assist my good spouse with post-surgery medical appointments on Wednesday. Have fun rolling around on the grass and the runway.

Watch out for goose artifacts!!😇

Admiral @GuyOReilly 's gorgeous three-masted Galatea, chased by @Paul Gray 's scale African Queen and @Frank v B 's KC3 racer with custom blue tape trim.

Three terrific master craftsmen displaying their finest.  Truly inspirational work on a stellar day.

Bravo guys!

I plan to be there with some boats and the "big one".
Thank you for the photos @Frank v B .

Toogood was Toogreat!

Enjoyed a beautiful day, lots of wind.  Present were Guy, Jan, Andy, Paul and wife Lorraine and me.
Maiden voyages for Guy's large Galatea, Paul's African Queen (from the movie) and my little 17" Ace Sloop.

Photo report: (photos out of numerical order to combine like subjects)
97- Paul's African Queen- he made it for his wife.  Sure.... I made half of my airplanes for my wife but she does not know it.!!
98- Paul working on his model
99- Paul and Lorraine.
97- Jan and his boat retrieval contraption
12- close-up of Jan's retrieval contraption.  Looks like some of the plumbing in his house may be missing as is the red sandwich container.  Where's the kitchen sink?
05- Guy's Galatea with my little sailboat to leeward.
13- Guy's Galatea out of the water.
14- close-up of the dory the crew uses to escape the Galatea.
09- Guy's other sailboat.  It was handed around to at least 3 people to sail.

Great first visit to the pond.
