I was thinking it would be nice to do the fall clean up whilst* the temperature was autumn-like...but this weekend looks way too nice. Sooo, I am now looking at Saturday 27/Oct to do a little tidying up.
It will be similar to last year focusing on clearing long grass out of the drainage channels, pot hole repairs on the lane, stacking of the lawn chairs, etc. Garden rakes, shovels, and boots would be great to have with you if you can make it out.
No idea of what the weather at this stage so I shall update later next week.
Looking forward to seeing everyone, honestly.
Cheers,
Graham
*learning from Simon-Sensei :)
Good learning Graham! I'm so pleased that I have been able to leave a legacy. ;)
Whilst I have a birthday party on 27th, I still plan to attend early. It will be brilliant! ;D
I'm in. See you there.
Will be there until I have to leave for my 1 pm appointment at a customer's house. Will meet at Tim's 30 minutes before the start time of the clean-up.... once Mr Graham posts it.
Frank
Special for you, Frank. Here is an analog representation of the start time as shown in digital format in the subject line.
I will watch the weather and provide the "go" or "no-go" on Friday.
Graham
MMMM... I see.... the big hand is on the 6 and the small hand is on the 9. I'll ask one of my kids to translate. ;)
Graham, do your weather dance this week. ;D
Frank
Oops. Just got a call today from a customer..... and the only time the work can be done is this Saturday starting at 9 am.
Don't everyone cheer at once at my absence from the clean-up. :( Graham will give make-up projects

Conditions look perfect! 8)
Andy
Andy,
re:"Conditions look perfect! 8)".... if you're a duck or a fish. ;D
Frank
Hey Graham,
Are we still on for tomorrow?
Well folks, things do not appear to be going as planned...
A clean up without Frank vB working in the stream just doesn't seem right. Andy's overly zealous admiration of rain and snow seems a tad strange. Along with the poor forecast for tomorrow, I don't think it will be too enjoyable.
So clean up is postponed.
Rescheduled to Saturday, 03/Nov 9:30am~11:30am.
Thank you to those who indicated their availability for tomorrow. I hope next week works for you as well.
Cheers,
Graham
also updated the calendar.
Thanks
Greg
I'm in! Still.
Nov 3rd it is.
Have to say I am doubtful at this point. One of the Opticians that work for me is going on her honeymoon (how dare she) and it means I have to work her Saturday morning shift, unless the Doctor is not working that day, in which case I will be able to help. Let you know as soon as I know.
GOOD CALL GRAHAM! I don't want to have to move any snow until I really have too.
I will be out next week. (There will be free coffee and donuts to entice ... won't there?)
I was psych'd up to get wet, cold, muddy and to share an incredibly, uncomfortable experience with my club mates.
🤪duh?
Then I woke up from the nightmare in a sweat and realized it was really the lure of coffee and donuts that I was psych'd up about.
Next week then guys!

Ah yes! But I was keeping it a surprise. ;D
Re: But I was keeping it a surprise. ;D
Sorry Graham! I thought the hot chocolate would be the surprise. ;)
(Another lure has been cast.)
re: "There will be free coffee and donuts..."
Graham, stop twisting my arm. I'll be there! ;D
Frank
So................................Graham, what is the verdict for tomorrow?
Looks like a 60% chance of nice weather tomorrow morning.
So let's do some cleaning :D
9:30am start at the field.
There will be refreshments but let's decide at the field whether it's on site or not.
I am guessing Frank vB will need a pre-cleaning caffeine fix at the Tim's on Woodbine. With the recent precip, it should make the stream all the more enjoyable.
See you in the morning!
Graham
Ok, I'm in, no Doctor working tomorrow so I can make it.
I can't wait to get to the field with my rake, hoe, boots, etc. ::)
See you tomorrow morning... :)
re: Graham's "I am guessing Frank vB will need a pre-cleaning caffeine fix at the Tim's on Woodbine."
Yep, 9 am at Tim's Woodbine.
Frank
sorry, just got in from a romantic evening shopping for laundry sinks and taps for a customer. :P
See you tomorrow guys!
Rake and shovel in hand!!
Glenn
The sky is spitting but I'm on my way to Tim's. The Brits would call this a beautiful fall day.
Frank
A pictorial report on the work session at the field.
Five of us showed up at Tim's... in the rain :(
Eleven of us showed up at the field at 9:30 am and immediately scared the rain away. It was dry for the entire time. :D
Ten of us did all the work under the watchful guidance of Maestro Roger. ;)
Bruce got the Coffee and Donuts and tried to keep them all for himself...unsuccessfully. :)
Now comes the Tim's Break.
- Bruce tries to keep everything for himself
- Mike gets the bonus spider donut
- Roger That gets his well deserved hot drink.
- Simon filming his Tim's commercial. He's the official spokesman. 8)
- Poor Glenn made the mistake of going to the control tower to get rid of the morning coffee. Bruce locked him in by driving his car up to the door. Glenn, please use this photo when you apply for the Restraining Order. ;)
The only proof that anyone did any work.....
Thanks to everyone who came out to help.
Frank
I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it.
On behalf of all the other lazy (or busy) bums in the club, THANK YOU guys for the awesome work you did. We all benefit from the efforts of this small, dedicated group.
Robert
P.S. Ha! to Glenn and his unfortunate potty experience. ;D

I am SO sorry I couldn't be there to help keep Bruce under control, if such a thing is possible. This is what happens when he doesn't get his fix of red corpuscles from Warwings. 8)
Sorry Glenn!
Andy
Robert,
Re your: "On behalf of all the other lazy (or busy) bums in the club, THANK YOU guys for the awesome work you did. We all benefit from the efforts of this small, dedicated group."
Those of us there were the only guys who could not think of a legitimate excuse to stay away. ;D
Andy,
re: your "I am SO sorry I couldn't be there to help keep Bruce under control, if such a thing is possible.
You should know by now that nothing or no-one other than Katie can control Bruce. The rest of us are just trying to help guide him through life. ;)
Frank
Lots has been said along with the nice photos, too.
A little early morning rain did not stop the intrepid clean up crew.
To Frank vB, Bruce, Rob D, Richard, Glenn, Mike H, Simon, Carlos, and Roger- you guys rock!
To everyone else, well you can look forward to the first annual winter clean up. I won't be there but I am sure Andy would be happy to take the lead on that one.
Seriously, many thanks fellas.
==Lawn chairs- in the event that summer-like weather returns and you wish to use a chair from the neatly stacked pile, kindly return it to the stack when you are done so we do not have to chase it down in the farmer's field in the spring.==
Graham
To me, this activity was kind of the unofficial end to the season. (It never really ends though.)
As a result, I would like to say thank you to Graham for keeping up the field and ensuring there was enough Gorilla Tape on the runway for smooth take offs/landings and sufficient paper in the 'control tower' to finish the job. (The pink mints in the bowl on the wall need topping up.)
Also many thanks to the rest of TEMAC's Executive, Simon, Greg and Andy for ensuring that all the other things it takes to run the club go smoothly, permitting us to fly with 'little aggravation'. (I now call Andy 'little aggravation'.)
Also thanks to the many members and students I have enjoyed flying and kibitzing with this season. I look forward to more..., even if many of you don't.
Thanks for cleaning up the field guys!
I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it.
You people are awesome!
