Students - I'm concerned about the forecast for training tonight.  Perhaps we can share info....

I am seeing high winds that would most likely make training too difficult. :(

I'm seeing constant wind speed of 16mph with gusts up to 30mph.

Anyone see anything different?

battlestu

i still plan on being there ... if it is too windy we can talk about flight training :)

I have too much work to do.

I'm sorry, I can't make it.

Winds be damned.  Three students showed up and three flew.  Justin and Malcolm had two flights each.  The take-offs and landings were at zero ground speed!!  A weird experience.  Winds were a very gusty 30 km/h.
The students did well.  Congrats to them for flying in very difficult conditions.  Every flight counted as three in experience towards their solos.

Thanks to Greg and Jack for their support.

Be careful... it's always too close, no matter how far...

Don't forget that only Students are allowed to fly on Wednesdays...

Huh!  Just as I typed that you replied above!  Congrats on a great flight!

Michael

It went well.

It's a bigger size foam model, with retracts.

Take off and trimming were OK, flight was smoother and smoother with each pass, and the landing was great, one wheel first and then the other, and no nose over.

Fun to watch!

lol! you know... a landing where your plane is in one piece, for sure is a good landing!   8)

Thanks @Michael for the tips on how to fly this little monster.... I've found that the plane is pretty powerful...   The landing wasn't thaaat great.... we had a pretty strong south wind... which made it even more difficult... but everyrhing went well...

I will probably get some extra decals from Callie to make it even more real....
