Title: Buttonville Airport Closed
Post by: davidk on December 01, 2023, 01:08:59 PM
Very sad.  Buttonville Airport now closed.  Been there all my life.  I've watched thousands of planes coming and going from that great little airport.

I travelled to Montreal so often and always hated the trek to Pearson.

When the Dash 8 started flying out of Buttonville I was in heaven.

I wonder if MAAC will now pull our SOC because a change to airports was made in Ontario.

Sad day indeed.
I flew from Buttonville and had my plane parked there for a few years.
This infrastructure cannot be replaced and the proposed Pickering Airport remains a mystery.
I believe that it was Markham airport (CNU8) that was the issue with our field, not Buttonville (CYKZ).

Markham was the "created" issue with our field because MAAC made up crap rules far beyond TC rules.

It was a joke about Buttonville, only because MAAC hasn't a clue and I figured because an airport closed, they'd be scurrying around looking to cancel SOCs.

Where are you going to move to, Guy?  When do you have to move?

The Pickering Airport fiasco was a joke and a land grab.  Won't come to pass in my lifetime.
