Field conditions: Beautiful!

Mix of sun and low cumulus clouds.

Chilly - dress warm (toques and fleeces recommended).

Winds NW gusting to 27 Km/h at 6' AGL.

Very flyable with the right aircraft.

The ospreys are having no problems!!

Flying conditions at TEMAC this afternoon were a lot of fun - except during the downpour at about 4:00 pm.  Before the rain winds were 20 gusting 30 from the south.  The menacing clouds moved in quickly from the north at 3:50, allowing just enough time to stow my planes and myself in my car before the skies opened up.  Time to drive back to Tim's at Woodbine for a coffee and an apple fritter.  Clearing skies then enticed me back to the field for a few final flights, this time with strong winds from the north, ushered in by the cold front that brought the rain.

I'm still trying to figure out why nobody else came out .... 😎

What a beautiful evening.  Light wind down the runway, warm, sunny.  Then the sun started to go down, the temperature dropped and the mosquitos came out for dinner.

Instructors Philip and George helped Groundie Mark with the student.   ;D
Kenny flew up a storm with his 3 jets, George flew his repaired plane (Stinson Reliant).  I got in a flight with my Pogo Pylon racer and the smaller Mini-Breeze.

Omar received his wings with a great flying display showing complete control.
Amir showed up and had at least 4 flights care of instructor George.

Photo Report:

35- Mark felt confident enough to fly his AgWagon that has been looking at him for at least 2 years.
37- Philip getting his Formosa ready.
38- George returns after his scale flight.  30% of the flying was inverted.
40- Omar shows off his new MAAC Pilot Badge.
42- Mark congratulating Omar on his wings achievement.
43- Omar and his award.

3rd, 4th and 5th flights today for my Raven.

I got my stabilization system working on ailerons and elevator last evening, and dialed rudder stabilization down to 0.

My plane balanced perfectly with a 4 cell 5000mah lipo battery pack.

Each flight was excellent. Good takeoffs, smooth flying, low passes, rolls, loops, nice slow and medium flight speeds, excellent gliding, and very nice landings. I was unable to stall the plane; it simply slowed down and glided forward.

I've built more printed planes than balsa.  The printed parts all go into 1 box.  When the box is full of parts it's always a bit intimidating.  But, as I take out 1 part at a time from the box, the parts transition from pieces of plastic to wings, tails... you know.  As I start using the last of the parts I get this melancholy feeling.  I do see a plane but, as with the box, I feel a bit empty.

When I opened the Raven box and was met with 20+ sheets of balsa all nicely aligned, laser cut and labelled I felt the same apprehension.  And now, seeing the leftover bare bones of empty balsa shells I'm sad again.  The build is over.  I'm going to term this feeling FMS.  Finished Model Syndrome.
