Title: Minimag power system
Post by: bfeist on July 26, 2012, 08:11:54 PM
Greg Cadez (Gregor77) generously handed down his Minimag trainer for my son to start learning on. I had to replace the broken inrunner with an outrunner I had sitting around. It's a 980Kv 28A max motor drawing 23A static on a 10x6. The 10x6 seems too big for the plane but I don't have a 9x6 or 8x6 sitting around. The motor is probably too powerful for the little airframe but it'll have to do.

I have that motor that was speced for the formosa race series sitting if your interested.  it would turn a lot smaller prop than the 10".  you can trade it for your Enigma or free.. your choice!

Dave Edwards came to the rescue with an 8x6 prop (he lives down the street).
It's pulling 13.6A now which with an AUW of 1.79lbs it's delivering 85W / lb. Perfect!

I got my wings with that plane - it's great for co-ordinated turns. Like Greg says, lots of fun.

Good luck Mr. Feist Jnr!  :)
