2014 TEMAC Indoor Funfly
Sunday evening, Dec. 28, 2014, from 6pm to 10pm
Metro Toronto Golf Dome, 125 Milner Ave, Toronto, ON
TEMAC members get exclusive opportunity to fly before non-members are invited.
The event is limited to approx. 40 flyers. TEMAC members wishing to participate must make their reservations here in this thread on this website. The cost of participation for members is $15 for those who confirm early. Payment accepted at the event only. If enough members do not confirm participation by Nov. 29, 2014, then the event will be opened to any MAAC member, at which time the cost will be $20.
This will be an informal and casual funfly, with as few rules as possible, of course maintaining all safety rules as per MAAC. 2014 MAAC membership is required. Depending on models at the event, time may be allocated to different types of flying: slow-flying, aerobatic, 3D, etc. This will be decided at the event.
2.4ghz transmitters are recommended, but a frequency board will be used if at least one person requests it beforehand.
Depending on suggestions, we may have one or two short contests, and perhaps some prizes. Food is not provided, although the venue usually has some snacks, drinks and pizza for sale.
Any suitable indoor model airplane is allowed. Helicopter models are limited to the micro single-cell battery type.
This thread will be monitored by Michael and Jack. An up-to-date flyers list (below) will be maintained on this website.

count me in!
I Know we have all these wonderful foam jobs so how about something different.
How about all you builders and budding builders get a rubber powered balsa and tissue kit and convert it to electric? You could keep it a simple rudder and elevator, two channel job. I think it would be great fun.
Any takers?
Put in Conrad and Claire Higgins, two juniors.
jack.
Count me in.
Hmmm...
Well, this is pretty short notice, but I'll try to make it.
Count me in please ;D
I'm afraid this is a serious answer - I'm busy. Sorry. Have fun without me.
I have a AR6400BL that I will donate to the first framed prototype for this event. In my honor of course.
Pictures we expect pictures.
Please add me to the list!!
Glenn
In!
Michael
Do you need wings to play
Ed
Ok, Ed, you're in.
Practice flying this summer, and start looking for a suitable indoor or micro model.
How are we defining a suitable indoor model
Ed
Suggestions:
Parkzone Ember; very easy to fly.
http://www.parkzone.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=PKZ3400
Parkzone T28; easy to fly, but with 4 channels.
http://www.parkzone.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=PKZU1580
Both of these will bind directly to a Spektrum transmitter.
Thanks Michael
The t-28 looks interesting, the Ember seems like a toy.
I also looked at the Hobby Zone mini Champ
Ed
the parkzone camp is a great indoor plane.... i have one and still fly it
Greg
I'm in and will build a rubber model E-conversion.
Frank
You're in; looking forward to seeing your new creation. ;D

Trying to change our Christmas plans & UK visit. After all, flying is more important! ;)
How much is it worth to not copy Les on this one EH?
LOL
Jack.
That, my friend, would be worth a significant amount.
I would "remove post" faster than you can say "Rifle 1M" ;)
Cookies at the Dome Fly and my e-mail is locked for an eternity. Les who?
Jack.
Cookies all round! Done!
Simon is in! :)
I have no idea why I've waited so long to reply.

Is there still room for more?, I'd like to participate.
Gerald
Gerald is in! ;D
2014 was , I think, the only year since its inception I did not belong to TEMAC. :-[
Just sent my TEMAC renewal for 2015, so please count me in for the Dome fly :)
(And in 2015 I hope for a change to actually make it out to Rogo more than once or twice a season)
Pat MacKenzie
Glad to have you back, Pat! ;D
Pat, you were always around in our hearts.
Jack.
Me signing up is a two-fer for TEMAC, since I always sign up for my brother Ivan as well. :)
So put him down as well, but if he is not available I might have to slip in a "ringer" like last year if that is OK.
Pat
OK with me!
mmm... I need to get some of my planes ready for this one...
Hi Guys. I will be able to make it on the 28th afterall. Please add my name to the list.
Thanks
Added! ;D
Hi Michael, please add my name and Eric's as well.
Thanks,
Stephan
Added! ;D
Please add me!
Added.
Thank you Michael, Jack, and anyone else who helped with the dome flying evening.
I had lots of fun, and made a lot of work for myself repairing planes!!! :-\
It would be great to do this more than just once a year.
Stephan
Thank you Michael, Jack, and others who make such a incredible event. Too bad it have to wait for another year for that. :P
thanks to everyone you made this happen... had a blast and flew three packs on my new copter!!
I blasted my helicopter too! ;D
I had a great time, and I offer a special thanks to Jack and Graham for helping out so much last night.
More than anything, it was terrific to hang out with the TEMAC guys again.
I also had a great time last night :)
Nice to see everyone again, hopefully I will make it out to the field this summer.
Managed to get in a lot of F3P practice, but it felt lonely back there.
What was nice was that there was no wire from the middle back at ground level up to the banners that had always been there in years past
That let me fly side to side with no worries about hitting that invisible wire.
Perhaps next time we could do the back as "solo" flying? Take turns and you get ~3 minutes to fly by yourself.
Any kind of model, might encourage more home made stuff that you don't want to risk in the "blender" up front.
Also would be good for those who want to try F3P style flying, where you need the space to yourself.
Pat MacKenzie
Glad to have you Pat, as always.
I'll work that idea in for the next one.
Jack.
I like Pat's idea. It would be nice to have him do a brief demo of his F3P protocols at the front of the house, master class style. I was watching him and it was truly amazing to see him execute the manoeuvres with such precision. It really was poetry in motion.
Andy
What fascinated me was the absolute control of speed.
No matter which direction it flew the speed seemed to hardly vary at all.
Terrific control.
Jack.
