Title: Disposal of burnt Lipo ?
Post by: pmackenzie on August 13, 2013, 01:26:21 AM
Not sure why , but the thread was locked ???

I would not have just left something like that at the field, but it is understandable that someone might not want to put something that had just been on fire inside their car.

Only similar situation I had was with an A123 pack that I had overcharged at the COGG field a few years ago.
Even though it was an A123 being hard cased it made a lot of noise when it popped, But no fire or flames, just some steam.

It smelled horrible.  I removed it when we left, but dumped it in a garbage can at the nearest rest stop.

Perhaps there should be a metal can filled with sand at the field that these could be safely put in, to be disposed of later once the risk of fire is completely gone and the smell diminished?

This is a good idea Pat thank you for contributing it. I admit I locked the topic as I didn't want finger pointing or accusations to follow. I hope others understand. I actually don't understand how Simon posted but his comments I think are suitable. Sorry for any inconvience
