Title: Rebuild Master Class
Post by: Andy Hoffer on March 16, 2018, 08:00:41 AM
Maybe @Frank v B k and @bweaver can team up to raise our level of theatre in the run-up to next season's (re)build class!  8)

See time stamp 13:28!  Amazing in slow motion.

Wow.  That will take more than a gallon of 5 minute epoxy. ;D  I would have to set Bruce's timer a thousand times. ;D

Looked at it several times with stop motion.  The plane did a slight roll to the right, then when he corrected with a left input, the tail slid to the right, putting side forces on the fin/rudder.  Then the fin/rudder broke off.  Classic example of a progressive failure.  It wasn't even going that fast.
Fascinating footage.  Thanks for posting it*.

Frank

*oops! That's a compliment.  It will never happen again. ;)
