Title: Modifying Multiplex Floats.
Post by: Papa on September 01, 2013, 04:52:19 PM
I have a Multiplex Mentor with the bespoke Multiplex floats.
It's a beautiful flier and stands up to a lot of abuse except
where the floats attach to the under carriage. The system is elegant
but can be a problem if abused.

It has four square styrene tubes that are glued into spaces on the floats.
these are then drilled to accept small screws. In time the screws can pull out
and you have to go to larger screws. To solve the problem I am putting
hardwood centers in each tube. I will use liberal amounts of epoxy to glue
everything in place.

If you are contemplating using these floats I would highly recommend this
modification. I used Obechi.
