Title: Airsail Chipmunk
Post by: octagon on January 21, 2019, 07:19:07 PM
I took a bit of a break from the CL, as it is close to the painting stage and I can't or don't want to paint inside. I bought this Airsail Chipmunk in kind of rough shape last fall. All it's fairing, which are made of plastic were cracked and some missing, so that had to be fixed.  I converted it to electric. There is no way to put a hatch in the thing so I have to install the battery by taking the wing off. I am leary of trying to reattach the wing of an armed plane, and so I installed a Schumacher arming switch in the side of it (thank you Frank VB). I have always liked Chipmunks and so when this one came up I couldn't resist. It is now ready to go.

Beautiful plane Rob. I also love Chipmunks.

When I was a teenager I knew the owner of this plane and once we had a mock dogfighter with an Auster!

Looks great Rob.  :)

Must have been fun Simon.  Where streamers involved?  ::)

My yet to be constructed Sig Chipmunk kit is another build project, I have to get to in the not too distant future.
