Well, as the flying season has pretty much come to an end, the mind turns to winter projects. I have an Eflite Hurricane that came with a fair amount of handling rash. Dents and scrapes and so on. I decided I would fill the dents and gouges with light weight spackle. after sanding, the issue of repainting came up. Probably a lot of people already know this trick, but for those that don't I am sharing. I took one of the elevators into Home Depot on Elgin Mills at Leslie. They scanned it with a colour match machine, and for $15, I got 3 bottles (about 10 ounces each) of flat latex paint, that matches the original paint exactly. I have ordered an Windrider Hurricane, and have a picture of a plane that flew in the Battle of Britain in 242 Squadron, which was a Canadian squadron led by Douglas Bader. I am hoping they can colour match off the picture I have.

What could possibly go wrong?
