Title: 2017-03 TEMAC Tickler, War Wing Build Class
Post by: sihinch on March 19, 2017, 02:48:10 PM
This coming Wednesday, March 22 is another build class at Col Mustard's.  After dinner we will head downstairs for the build skills exchange parading as a "Build Class":

•   Frank will handle a traditional balsa build session for those whose diet does not include foam.  He will bring covering materials as well if you need help at that stage of your build.

•   Bruce Weaver will handle the War Wing build class.  During the class you will be guided on how to construct and finish your aircraft.  Instruction will include how to...

o   Epoxy the wing pieces together (bring your own 5 minute epoxy)
o   Cut, shape and attach the elevons (tape hinges provided)
o   Reinforce the top and bottom of the wing (fiberglass reinforcing tape provided)
o   Cut and install the 2 elevon servos (bring your own servos - 4 plywood pieces for mounting the servos will be provided)
o   Epoxy the top and bottom of fuselage pieces to wing.
o   Construct the motor mount using inexpensive pieces of ply and wood (you must supply and cut your own materials.)
o   Balance the Warwing and mount your battery, receiver and ESC. (Velcro and zip ties - you provide)
o   Personalize and finish your Warwing including techniques for attaching the target ribbon.

Also, watch the club calendar on the TEMAC homepage for the 2017 list of events.  It's coming very soon!

Cheers,
Simon

For those participating in the Warwing build, please refer to the details outlining the materials provided and those you need to bring.  http://temac.ca/smf/index.php/topic,6103.msg39771.html#msg39771

(There have been a few improvements made to the kit that were not noted in Simon's email.)

If you haven't ordered your kit but still want to see what's involved in putting a Warwing together, come on out!

See you Wednesday.  :)

re: improvements.

They must have been made after extensive crashing, not extensive flying. :D
