I'm putting together a new Nooner, and I bought a new motor from Simon.

Both have the same dimensions and similar weight.

My old motor is a Hobby King HK2838: KV2810, and the one from Simon is a Typhoon EDF 4W-2250 motor.

Which should I use?

Should I use either and prop to draw 18 amps?

Should I use a larger folding prop with the lower KV motor? (I did break lots of props on landings last season.)

I believe Simon used a 5.25X6.5 prop last season on a 2200kv motor. In my opinion his plane was as fast as any of the higher rpm motors running the smaller prop.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

Use the HET with a 5.25 x 6.25 prop.  Static it's around 22A. It's a fast set-up.

You can start with a 5x5 to get used to it.
