Hi..I joined late last fall with my 13 yr old son..I'm flying an Apprentice and a 1700mm fms f4u4..I'm currently building a top flite "Elder" probably for electric conversion..I have been a member at Seaton Valley, Oakville and Burlington flying clubs but I've been out of it for 10 years. I'm a newbie with electric flight but I'm sold on it and going all in with it (...I'll keep this post short to see if it works..the lengthy one I tried before this didn't work..I'll try to put up a few pix too....Happy skies!!

The Top Flite Elder makes a great electric conversion!

I built a very successful conversion of the Balsa USA Eindekker 40. It is similar in style and size so what works for it (me) is.

3S2200 batteries (two in parallel to give 4400 mAh capacity) mounted up beside the motor.

A generic 4250 size 600 kv motor.

A 40A speed control.

All this turns a 14 x 10 prop. Gives 8 minute flights using 50% of the battery capacity. My flights range from "scale like flight" to a little spirited bits near the ends. If you want any advice just ask.
