Title: Battery sources and charging
Post by: wollins on October 27, 2019, 11:01:38 AM
As some may know I've been away for the last three years and now getting back into things.  ;D  I've noticed that there are a few "advancements" especially in battery technology so some questions.  When I left, a typical "high discharge" pack would be like 35c?  Now I'm seeing packs upwards of 100C???

1. Do you guys find this to be a "true" C rating performance wise?
2. What's the typical charge rate on your typical pack these days?  Back in the day I seem to recall charging at 2C typically. (I have a bunch of really small cheap chinese "no name" 35C 1 cell packs for my kids quads and wondering how high of a charge rate I can use)
3. Any opinions on these new (to me lol) Li HV packs? Worth it in terms of performance?
4. Where are you guys getting your packs from these days? (When I left the go to was HobbyKing)

Thanks guys!

Colin.

Here's a useful thread Colin.

I think some "good" ones are Gens Ace, Pulse, China Hobby Line, Rhino, Panther.
