So I ordered myself a Christmas present from Banggood: A Tiger Moth from Dancing Wings.  ;D
The kit that arrived is a DR-1 from Free Sky.  :(
After multiple emails with Banggood, it seems that unless I can provide a box showing that the kit is a DR-1 and not a Tiger Moth, nothing further can be done.
The box containing the DR-1 has NO INDICATION of the contents, and I so reported to Banggood.  ???
I supplied them with the SKU number tag that was the only label on the box, but to no avail.
I even provided them (amongst other pictures) the attached clearly showing that the kit is a DR-1.
So it seems that I will be building Fokker DR-1 in the not too distant future.
Only drawback or should I say one of the MANY drawbacks is that the colour schemes of all red is way too common and, dare I say boring.   ::)
Suggestions for a different colour scheme are welcome.  ;)
Have a great COVID Free day!

That sounds annoying Guy. When I was a kid I built a plastic kit of a DR1. I used Gunter Voss' colour scheme.

What could possibly go wrong?

Translucent beige like Glenn's biplane.  It will be gorgeous.

Hey @GuyOReilly

Ahhh!  So, you are going the museum piece route, eh!!  I can't wait to do the portraits on this one, if you will allow me the honour!

@Andy Hoffer , of course you can do portraits!!  Your pictures are always so focused!   ;)
Not so sure about "Museum Piece Route"
But the model will be painted as there is likely no Monokote of that colour.
The graphics will be done with vinyl.

Hi @GuyOReilly

Here are photos of Glenn's magnificent Sopwith Camel.  I believe it is fabric covered.  Perhaps @electroflyer can elucidate for us.

It is one of the nicest planes I have seen at our field.  The translucent covering gives it a wonderful luminous quality while revealing the delicate internal architecture of the plane's construction.

My two cents worth.

(First photo is @frank harvesting arboreal airplane plantings.  It has nothing to do with your choice of aircraft covering, but you need to know that there are dangers lurking in "them thar woods"! If your plane is too pretty..... 8) )

What is the wingspan?  Is this the larger model that Banggood is selling?

@Gregor77  the wingspan is 28 inches.
The kit is a Free Sky kit that was sent by Banggood, but not the kit I ordered (i.e. a Tiger Moth).
This morning I was asked to send a video of unpacking the kit from the box to prove that the box the kit came in was the correct box.  ???
Still in discussion about resolving the shipping of the incorrect kit.
In any event, I will not be returning the kit for a replacement. :-X

Guy,

I just measured the wingspan ion the DR 1 I just repaired and flew this month.  It was 28" span on the top wing not including the ailerons that stick out beyond the trailing edge.

I never would have recognize @Frank v B from that angle...

The pictures are (of course) beautiful of the Camel from @glenh .
I am leaning toward the Kempf colour scheme at this time...  But then again, it is early in the game and other projects to finish first.
On a positive note, I received a note from Customer Service at Banggood offering a $50.00 refund for sending the wrong kit.
Great customer service I must say, all in all a positive experience.
