Title: Y-Harness Concerns
Post by: Gregor77 on July 17, 2012, 03:36:36 PM
Is there a risk to this system?

5V SBEC

Running 3 STD Metal Servos (rudder / al / elv)
3 micro 9G servos (other functions, light load)

Rudder connected to Y-Harness from STD to two micro 9G servo, using 2 Y-harness.
Elevator Y-harness to STD and one micro 9G.

Is this too much load on one channel?   I think that a 5V SBEC should be OK and not overload the system.  The concern is that I don't want the rudder or elevator to fail.

What are your thoughts...

It's been a hot day and I'm easily confused.
I would try to keep about 1amp per servo available on the BEC. Seems you have 8 servos is that right?  A 10 amp BEC in my mind could handle that. But I would like to hear others input.
