Frank v B

windy, gusty, from all directions, including up and down but a nice and sunny day.

Maidened two Apprenti after repairs of similar fuse breaks on Wednesday.  Kenny's and Jan's Apparenti trimmed out just fine.  They both did beautiful repairs to the breaks.  This way they are set for Wednesday's instruction night.

Graham and Mark showed up as well as Andy to witness the successful maiden flights of my Guillow's B-25 and DC 3.  Andy took some awesome in-flight photos of both maidens.  The one hairy B-25 take-off photo was before the recovery.  Both landings were not graceful but no damage.  The B-25 did a curtsy/noseover on landing and the DC-3 did a cartwheel in the beans but no damage.

photos:
91- Andy warming up with the tools of his trade.
93- Graham taking photos probably for blackmail purposes.
94- A speed bump on the runway.
95- the DC-3 after its flight.
96- a peaceful demonstrator.
97- breaking the peace.  Starting to look an awful lot like a landed alien.  My image is in the reflection of his glasses.
27- Andy's photo of the B-25 take-off before the correction (it did not crash)
38- B-25 in flight
43- B-25 in flight photo
47- DC-3 in flight photo.

Great photos Andy.

More photos from today:

#3954 @Frank v B 's DC-3 pretending to be a P-51 on a strafing run.
#3924 @Frank v B 's B-25 on short final.
#3910 Frank's B-25 on a low reconnaissance pass.

Frank's wrestling matches with the strong variable winds and significant eddies off the trees were sights to behold.  The guy is good! (Ouch, that hurts!)
