Now that the flying season is starting the Board would like to remind all members
of our club rules. Our growth in the past year has necessitated some revisions and
new rules aimed at preserving the unique atmosphere we have in this club.

The Club Rules for 2013 are shown below.
Please read carefully as there have been a number of changes and additions.
Where possible I have shown these in red text.

The rules exist for your Safety please conduct yourself so that you comply.
Failure to comply shows a lack of Courtesy to your fellow members.
The rules allow for every one to have Fun.

That covers the motto of the club!

Just a little rationale and background to one of the new rules......

With the growth of the club, and the fact that different people like to fly at different times of the day and days of the week, it's become more difficult to keep track of who has wings, and who hasn't.  So please take note of the new rule about displaying your pilots wings.

It's important for everyone's safety, and for the longevity of the club, that people don't fly alone or unsupervised (by an Instructor) who haven't been given either solo priveliges, Park Wings or MAAC Wings.

If you don't have a wings pin, please see a Board member and we will arrange to get you one.

Cheers,
Simon

As an addition to rule #7 warning and staying low to avoid full scale aircraft.
Would it be possible to inform the flight line of the direction of approach of said aircraft?  I've noticed on several occasions that due to the echos and variety of directions we are passed over it was difficult to locate where the aircraft was in an effort to try and avoid its flight path.  This could be with a o'clock position being that 12 o'clock would be straight out in front of the pilots stations.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

Papa

Hi Ed, on the face of it that seems like a very reasonable request.

Looking at it from another perspective it would suggest that you
want to remain at full size height and avoid the full size. We really
want to encourage a very rapid descent by all models to a safe height
rather than avoidance. Avoidance is acceptable as a last choice, coming
down is the preferred approach.

No Jack my intention is to be lower AND avoid the aircraft area. Sometimes I've witnessed full scales at TEMAC and other locations that are quite low. I've found myself having to fly in the direction of the sound so I could make a visual of the aircraft and its course. Hearing the sound and continuing flying without knowing the location is un nerving when you can not take your eyes off the model.

Oh and yes I know I'm a pain in the a$$ but I figure your retired and need something to do hahahaha

To me "East" is much clearer in this context than "12 oclock"

Clock directions make sense if you are in a moving airplane, but on the ground compass directions are better.
