little too windy for now but friday looks like it will be acceptable and if not sunday will be very little winds and 12 degrees.

little update on the f16
readjusted cg and actually did the smart thing and put the elevator and aileron rates on 3 pos switches. also tweaked the gyro a bit more

also i bought a waterproof box to keep me from braking more TX's.(left a spot at bottom left for tool i dont have yet)

thanks for the updates though Andy

Update:  3:00 pm

Winds gusting 35 kmh

Temp:  7C. (If you hide in the Portadump - my insightful spouse's vernacular, not mine - although it did give me a huge laugh!!)

Wind chill: -1C (even in the pee grass)

You definitely want snow pants or long underwear. Winter boots would also be nice, but rubber boots are better at slogging through the muck in the pits.

Summary:
Great flights, wonderfully challenging, crosswinds, and I am frozen! Off to Tim's for a nice hot coffee and an apple fritter to replenish the calories. I just burned off.!! 😂😎

Awesome time. Breakfast was good. Lots of chatting. Swap was fun to see everyone in one place. Lots of deals. I basically targeted any plastic models and made a few new contacts. Looking forward to getting to the field.

General Discussion / Looking for DSSS Receiver 2.4G...
Last post by GuyOReilly - April 07, 2025, 09:32:55 AM
Hello Members;
I purchased a transmitter, but I do not have a corresponding receiver.
Does anybody have a E-Fly-4BII 2.4 GHZ DSSS 4 channel receiver they could spare for a reasonable price?
The receiver is older technology, I know, but would work for the intended application.
Thank you.

Report:
- 8 of us joined for breakfast.  4 from the Beeton RC Flyers and 4 from Temac (Andy, Greg, Guy and me).
- went to the swap meet and saw Temac members Michael, David, Karl M., Simon H., Glenn, Good Looking Ken (Ross), Rob D., Peter P., Vadim.
- saw long-time-no-see people like Parker Leung (now back at TEMAC), 4 guys whom I instructed 20 years ago, Frank Crognale (Beeton) who drops by our August funfly, Max (905 squadron), Merv Gohn, Ken Fluney (Orangeville EF1 Racing).

Got some good deals- two matching snarly 28mm outrunners for $5 each, a .60 size outrunner for $10, an E-Flite Power 25 EF1 motor for $20 and a complete P51 kit .20 size from House of Balsa for $40 (they were $85 in 1992!!).  Have built two of these before and are amazing flyers.  Would fly great with the EF1 racing motor (800 watts). ;D  I helped Simon by taking an EF1 kit off his hands. A friend in need is.....

Rudie Nagelmakers (Beeton) received a care package from me containing all IC gas stuff I collected from estates (motor, tanks, motor mounts, flight box, electric starter motor, glow driver, plug wrench, APC props).

He donated all the electric stuff he has collected including a large selection of Lipo batteries.  I will go through them and spread the wealth among members.

Well worth the trip.
Now back to reality. (working around the house  :P ).
