Main construction is done. After some sanding, I'll dry-fit/assemble the components, prepare the 4 motors, speed controls, and wiring, and then scratch build nacelles.

Anyone planning to go to the KWFD Swap meet this weekend?  I bought a few items however can't make it out this weekend.  Was hoping to work something out with anyone that plans on going. 

ARGHHH !!

Using a white and red covering scheme....because it was the covering I had*.  Covered the 4 wing panels.  Everything went fine until I shrunk the panels.  One of them wrinkled, pulled and did not adhere to the main spar. The colour pulled off the back. See photo.   Back into the covering inventory.  Cut a new panel and ironed it in place.  It seems to hold fine.

* I have an inventory of about 40 full and partial rolls of covering.  I guess this one was old and dried... or it just did not like me.

Yahoo!!  One more kick at the can before the polar vortex sets in. Temperature is -3, windchill -13 C. Wind gusting to 26.8 km/h, right out of the north!! And fresh snow!!!

The wings are coming along nicely.

As with my previous build/model, I added a carbon-fiber wing joiner after a crash due to a broken dihedral joint.

On this model I custom-built a snug-fitting carbon-fiber and plywood dihedral joint, which will be used instead of the (built from 2-piece of plywood) joiner supplied in the kit.

Otherwise, I'm building the wing mostly as per the instructions.

I intend to finish all balsa and plywood construction of the model before customizing it for the 4 electric motors.
