I just love "Organic" Supports.

I've been looking for a snow air boat for a few weeks... just couldn't find the ONE.  Peter shows up at the field last week with the perfect Snow Air Boat.  Here's my work in progress.

David,

You can now join us when the water gets soft at Toogood pond.

Interesting.

I have a kit for a this Airboat.  Maybe I'll get to it in the summer.

I didn't think it would work but I tried my 2212 980iv on 4S with a 4.75 x 4.75 2 blade prop... and nope... wouldn't budge on icy snow.

Will have to wait for the 2212 2450kv and 3-blade 5x4 prop to be delivered.

The aero boat calls for a 2212 2200kv motor so I wasn't too surprised.

David,

A 22 mm 950 KV motor would need at least a 10" prop on 3 cells (<20 amps) to get moving
A 22 mm 2450 would probably do well with a 5x5 prop (<25 amps on 3 cells).

If the boat gets sticky on the snow, spray PAM vegetable spray on the bottom... or go to 16 cells (not!).  ;D

Neat project. 3D projects are always colourful.

1500 more KV and a 3-Blade appropriately sized prop got this little snow boat going nicely.

2450KV 4S, 3-Blade 5040 Prop, 4S 1800mAh battery... and some nice fluffy snow.  It's a hoot.

The 2 rudders running off 1 servo are very effective.  I added a little cargo box with a hinged lid to cover the servo and make it look pretty.

So cool!!  Shall we see it in action at Toogood Pond this spring?  I hope so.
