Speedfest is approaching and Simon has bought a Hobbyking Reverb along with a list of high performance equipment to make it a speed machine.

This a photo thread of the assembly of the pieces in preparation to go fast!

Photos show the repair to a wingtip damaged in shipping and then a quick paint job for colour and visibility.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

12:Using a cut off piece of the pushrod to drill the hole in the new horn.

Faaaasssssst !

Ed - you're a master! Thank you.

But now the secret is out!

Ededge2002

Ahhh  Simon the secret is safe.  You don't think anyone reads these posts do you?

After a couple little jobs Simons Reverb was completed earlier tonight!  It was such a nice night and the plane was looking so good I just couldn't resist taking it out for a quick flight...  My daughter did the maiden and said it makes great turns around the tree on our lawn!

Now that's confidence and skill - giving the camera a massive grin whilst flying a 140+mph plane round a tree at 2 ft!  :D

I think she should keep the plane, Ed - she's a better pilot than me.  :'(

And was that a 3 channel radio? Wow!  ;)

She takes after the old man in flying skill as well as stunning good looks!  Thank goodness she doesn't have a Nooner racer I would have some competition.  Oh and she is modest just like me!

Well, we spent the evening settin up the balance, throws and radio program. And I'm delighted to report it meets the "450 watts per lb" Ed set-up requirements!

On a fully charged 4S battery, with a 4.75x4.75 prop doing a quick static thrust test, we got around 65 amps and 900 watts.  And it weighs just under 1.5lb without the lipo!

Should be fun!

Im very excited to see this new plane in action!  If I don't say so myself it turned out quite well and programming the new Turnigy 9XR was a snap!  Very impressed with where this radio is taking things.  First time on a new style software and in no time we had spoilers and everything programmed!  FrSky  module and receiver with dual antennas showed quick rebind after powering down and fit perfectly.
