David and I have embarked on our next 3D adventure; a Venom-S by LSPlanes. This is a small-medium sport jet, using a 64mm EDF unit. It will run on a 4S battery pack.

Length: 970mm; Wingspan: 900mm.

David printed one for me and one for himself, and I'm getting ready to start building. Luckily, I have every piece of hardware sitting around in my 'airplane room'.

Fuselage assembly was easy.

Elevator servos are supposed to be hot-glued in place. I don't normally do this, but I did apply a bit of hot glue to see how it holds. So far, they hold and function well. The instructions call for more hot-glue around the servos to hold them securely.  I may do this.

Wow!  Cool plane!  I expect some low passes like in the video!

That's a really nice looking aircraft.

I'm interested, how long did it take to print all the plane parts? Thanks!

Really nice... white canopy.  I had a quick look at printing that with 2 colours, but the design just didn't lend itself to doing that.

What is the final weight... with and without a battery... and what battery are you going to use?

Michael

920 grams, or about 2 pounds, with paint.

Add approx. 240 grams for a 4-cell 2200mah battery pack, for a total of approx. 2.5 pounds.

I may get a slightly bigger battery, maybe 2,800mah.

Good to know.  You're very close to the spec for the build.

My FMS 64mm 4S EDF puts out 1150g of thrust... so no issues on weight.
