Can anyone tell me if HS-225MG Hitec Servos will work on a 64" 3D plane 5-6lbs (http://www.extremeflightrc.com/html/64MXS.html) ?
The spec calls for Hitec 5245MG or 7245 but the combo I was looking at has the 225MG

From the spec - they look reasonable but rcgroups the comments are similar to this one: "hs-225mg, definitely will get some blowback, they will work fine for most though."

Will these work for an average pilot starting a bit of 3D and more aerobatics? (The servos are already installed and it will end up quite expensive to replace them with better ones).

The SU29 has 5245MG on all surfaces. They have been perfect and I would use them again. They are set up with huge deflection yet have a precision I've never had in a plane before.  I'm running them at 6Volts and initially I struggled to fly them they were so fast even around center.  I added more expo and that brought them into control for me.

I know you were asking about an alternate servo I just figured I would give my opinion on the recommended one.  I looked at the specs and besides not being digital I suspect they will be fine.

Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

Thank you Ed - The 5245MG's are the recommended ones but unfortunately the plane I was considering was not and replacing them will not make sense at this point ..:(
