Successful maiden! Very smooth, very quiet, and very stable.

4 flights so far.

General Discussion / Spikes on the Runway
Last post by davidk - Yesterday at 03:52:56 PM
At this time of year the spikes on the runway pop up their little steel heads to welcome spring... and undercarriages.  Down the center and on the sides some spikes are up about 1.5 inches and the ground below is frozen so I couldn't push them back down.

Be careful when landing, don't land down the middle of the runway.  For now, the grass is a good spot.

4:00 pm EDT

In a word: raw!!

Winds: East gusting to 30 kmh
Sky: overcast
Temp: 0 degrees C

Runway: 90% clear, 10% snow patches (1" thick wet granular)

Pits: 3-4" wet granular crunchy snow

Good crosswind practice day.

NOT a good day for those who prefer sleeveless undershirts!

Silver lining:  no mosquitoes, no black flies, no no-see-ums, no ticks (in the pits).

Dark cloud;  very chilly for relieving oneself; port-a-potty recommended.

😇
